Mary Ann Loreng

Mary Ann LorengMary Ann has been a practicing occupational therapist since earning her Bachelor of Science degree from Kean University.  She has worked in Morris County public school settings for over 20 years.  She joined the staff here at Pediatric Potentials almost 20 years ago.   

Mary Ann is certified in the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test, is a certified provider for The Listening Program, and is an Interactive Metronome certified provider. She has attended numerous continuing education courses including courses on The Alert Program, Brushing Protocol, Handwriting Without Tears, SOS Approach to Feeding, DIR Floortime, and dyspraxia. Mary Ann specializes here in treating children ages 1-10 with ADHD, sensory processing disorders, gross/fine motor delays and those on the autism spectrum.  Mary Ann also currently works in Rockaway Township Public Schools with preschoolers through 5th grade. Her students include those with Down's Syndrome, autism and learning disabilities. Mary Anne is certified as an Advanced Mentored Clinician in SPD Level 1, having completed the Advanced Intensive Mentorship from the Sensory Processing Foundation.

Mary Ann particularly enjoys teaching kindergarten readiness skills and working in our sensory gym. She also loves facilitating parent/teacher workshops on topics ranging from developing play skills for preschoolers, feeding picky eaters, handwriting skills, sensory integration and sensory diets for the home and school. 

Mary Ann is the mother of two school-age boys. She credits her background in sensory integration with providing her with tools as a parent and as a professional. She particularly enjoys collaborating with her students' families.  She loves the positive working environment here as well as the availability for collaboration between therapists.
