Grace Malone loves working with children, finding it a joy to watch them progress, to see them having difficulties one month and making progress the next. For Grace, the best part of working with them is that "kids are kids, no matter what their challenges may be”.
Grace is a 1981 graduate of Kean University. For 14 years here, she has provided a rich and abundant range of OT services to kids from toddler to elementary age. Her quiet demeanor and love of kids and their families make her a great stabilizing part of their day and week. Grace is most recently certified in the Rhythmic Entrainment Intervention, a custom made program which helps children with auditory processing issues and sensory integration disorders learn to listen and focus. Her love of continuing education has helped her achieve and maintain proficiencies and certifications in DIR (Greenspan Relationship Based Treatment of Autism), Sensory Processing and Integration training, Oral Motor training, REI and school certifications. She also goes into classrooms and homes throughout the state, mentoring teachers and families to improve outcomes for her students. Grace is certified as an Advanced Mentored Clinician in SPD Level 1, having completed the Advanced Intensive Mentorship from the Sensory Processing Foundation.
A North Plainfield resident, Grace is the mother of three daughters ages 23, 20 and 18. When her youngest entersed the Nursing program at Rutgers last Fall, it was the first time in 13 years that Grace wasn't criss-crossing the country cheering on one of her basketball-playing daughters!
