If you see a barefoot redhead on the floor playing with a child, it's probably Livingston native and resident, Jodi Prupis. Jodi became an OT because of her own struggles as a child with dyslexia and coordination disorder. An OT for 10 years, and with us at Pediatric Potentials since 2001, she has a Master's in Education with a concentration in learning disabilities. Jodi is certified as an Advanced Mentored Clinician in SPD Level 1, having completed the Advanced Intensive Mentorship from the Sensory Processing Foundation.
Jodi works here with preschoolers-grade 6 with attentional and sensory integration issues, sometimes using behavioral management techniques to improve organizational skills. She's particularly versed in using Interactive Metronome and The Alert Program. Jodi also works with children on the autistic spectrum at The Children's Institute, and teaches life skills to a special education population at Passaic Valley Regional High School. She is a favorite of kids and parents due to her young-at-heart attitude and high energy personality!
The mother of three young girls, Jodi's goal is to earn a Ph.D. in Occupational Therapy and to draw on her personal childhood struggles, knowledge and experience to teach future therapists.
